Here’s my problem with using Zillow to get your home’s value.
Did you know that 99.9% of homes are NOT sold at their Zestimate? Zillow’s algorithm is more of a “guesstimate” than an estimate. In fact, the CEO of Zillow sold his home for 40% less than what his own website said it was worth.
How many of you live in an area with a bunch of homes that are all different ages, sizes, and conditions? Zillow doesn’t take any of that into account; just your location. Their view of your home is nothing more than the quick output of an algorithm, but its value is much more than that. For example, you could do a $30,000 kitchen remodel or $40,000 outdoor living remodel and Zillow would have no idea.
Zillow is fun, easy, and hassle-free, but it shouldn’t be trusted to give you your home’s value. Your home is one of the largest investments you have, so if you’re thinking of selling or are just curious about its true value, we’d be happy to help. If you have any other questions for me, don’t hesitate to reach out via phone or email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
